AFCAT 02/2026 timeline and current status

The notification gives one online-exam date for courses commencing in July 2027.

The public Indian Air Force notification page still lists the AFCAT 02/2026 registration notice. Its result page did not display a current Cycle 02 result during the August 28 audit.

AFCAT 2 online test pattern

Marking and normalisation

Ground Duty Technical includes Aeronautical Engineer Electronics and Mechanical rows. Ground Duty Non-Technical includes Weapon Systems, Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education and Meteorology.

NCC Special Entry does not print a new fixed count. It uses 10% of CDSE Permanent Commission seats and 10% of AFCAT Short Service Commission flying seats under the notice.

Similarly, AFCAT candidates for different branches must meet branch-specific age, education, 10+2 subject and medical conditions. The shared written paper does not make every candidate eligible for every branch.
