Toronto IELTS dates in September 2026

September 7 was Labour Day and also appears on CELPIP's published office-closure list, but this article does not claim the holiday caused every IELTS absence. September 14 was also absent without being a Canadian statutory holiday. The live portal is the evidence for both dates.

How 145 cards fit into 28 dates

A card represents a centre, date, time, price and Speaking arrangement. Toronto has many overlapping centres and sessions, so one date can produce several cards.

Academic and General Training each produced 145 cards. Their centre distribution differed by only one card between Oxford International and Seneca, while the total, dates and prices matched.

The calendar highlight tells you a date exists. The card tells you which centre, price and appointment combination is on sale.

The ten Toronto centre groups

The audited cards were grouped under:

Oxford International, BITTS Spadina and ILSC Main Campus accounted for roughly seven out of ten cards. That concentration is useful for comparing availability, but it does not rank the centres by quality.

Ask for the exact address and Speaking venue. British Council Canada says venue information can appear in the Test Taker Portal five days before the test.

Why Toronto prices range from CAD 359 to 376

The live cards displayed:

Different centre groups produced different totals. A blog that states one Canada-wide IELTS price hides a real local decision variable.

If a transfer may be needed, British Council Canada's current standard policy ties refund and transfer terms to how many days remain. Read the centre terms before selecting the cheapest card.

Express Entry requires General Training

The Toronto calendar gives Academic and General Training the same 28 dates, but IRCC treats them differently.

The official Express Entry language-test page says:

• IELTS One Skill Retake is not accepted for Express Entry.
• CELPIP users must take CELPIP-General.
• PTE users must take PTE Core.

Do not book Academic for Express Entry because a preferable time or price appears. The government route owns the test-version decision.

Speaking can use another day

The Toronto cards used both live with examiner and video call at the test centre. Both require centre attendance.

British Council Canada says Speaking can be scheduled on the same day or within seven days before or after Listening, Reading and Writing. Therefore, a September 1 written appointment can create a Speaking date outside the exact main-test day.

Result and deadline planning

British Council Canada states computer results arrive in one to five days and typically within two days. Writing on Paper within IELTS on computer also uses a one-to-five-day range.

Express Entry's rejection of One Skill Retake does not automatically extend to every Canadian university or regulator. Acceptance is route specific.
