CELBAN Test Dates in Canada: October-December 2026

CELBAN lists 21 Speaking appointments on 10 dates from October to December 2026. Check Toronto times, CAD 425 fee, 14-day CBT rule and scores.

The official CELBAN registration service showed 21 open Speaking appointments across 10 dates from October to December 2026 when audited on August 28. The dates are October 6, 17, 23 and 25; November 10, 13, 14 and 21; and December 8 and 11.

No September month was returned by the live registration API. The open months were October, November and December. A candidate who had not already booked could not select a September Speaking appointment through the public portal during the audit.

CELBAN is delivered in two parts. The Speaking interview is virtual, while Listening, Reading and Writing are one computer-based test scheduled through Prometric. Start a free SpeakShark conversation for general nursing communication and use official CELBAN material for the assessment.

Remaining 2026 CELBAN Speaking schedule

The table below reports the source appointments in Toronto local time. October dates are on Eastern Daylight Time. November and December dates are on Eastern Standard Time after the seasonal clock change.

Month Speaking dates Appointment count
October 2026 6, 17, 23, 25 9
November 2026 10, 13, 14, 21 7
December 2026 8, 11 5
Total 10 dates 21

The portal did not return September. It also did not return January through September as open months. That is an inventory finding, not a claim that no earlier exams occurred.

The date selected here is only the virtual Speaking interview. Registration then opens eligibility for the separate CELBAN CBT appointment.

For a fixed Canadian academic calendar rather than nursing registration, see the Canada September CAEL dates. For immigration routes, use Canada immigration English tests. These tests and receivers are not interchangeable.

October 2026 appointments

October has four Speaking dates and nine open times.

Date Toronto-time appointments
Tuesday, October 6 1:45PM, 2:30PM
Saturday, October 17 1:45PM, 2:30PM
Friday, October 23 8:30PM, 9:15PM, 10:00PM
Sunday, October 25 5:00PM, 5:45PM

The evening October 23 block serves candidates in other time zones more conveniently than a Toronto afternoon. The applicant selects a timezone in the registration portal, which converts the underlying Toronto schedule.

Do not manually convert the table and then enter the wrong calendar date. Select the candidate's actual country and timezone in the portal and save the generated confirmation.

The October 6 date is the first open date returned on August 28. It leaves time to receive the Prometric eligibility instructions and schedule the CBT within the required window.

November 2026 appointments

November has four dates and seven appointments.

Date Toronto-time appointments
Tuesday, November 10 1:00PM
Friday, November 13 9:15PM, 10:00PM
Saturday, November 14 8:30PM
Saturday, November 21 1:00PM, 1:45PM, 2:30PM

November times use Eastern Standard Time. A candidate outside Ontario should rely on the timezone conversion shown during registration.

November 13 and 14 create consecutive evening options, while November 21 offers three afternoon times. Capacity can change after this dated audit.

December 2026 appointments

December has two dates and five appointments.

Date Toronto-time appointments
Tuesday, December 8 1:45PM, 2:30PM
Friday, December 11 8:30PM, 9:15PM, 10:00PM

These are the last open 2026 Speaking dates returned by the service. The candidate still needs a CBT date within 14 days.

A December 11 Speaking interview permits a CBT within 14 days before or after, subject to Prometric availability. Holiday closures and reduced capacity make it risky to leave the CBT choice until the last moment.

Speaking and CBT must be within 14 days

CELBAN has two linked appointments:

Part Delivery Skills
CELBAN Speaking Test Virtual interview Speaking
CELBAN CBT Prometric test site or online proctoring Listening, Reading, Writing

The CBT must be completed no more than 14 days before or 14 days after the Speaking date. CELBAN says results are not validated or issued when the two parts fall outside that window.

Registration works in this order:

  1. Complete the CELBAN registration form.
  2. Select and pay for a Speaking appointment.
  3. Receive the Speaking confirmation.
  4. Receive a unique eligibility number within three business days.
  5. Follow the Prometric instructions to schedule the CBT.
  6. Check that both appointments are within the 14-day window.

The CBT can occur first. The rule measures the distance between appointments, not a required order.

Partial tests are not offered. The current policy also says scores cannot be combined across two attempts. Passing one skill previously does not remove it from the next complete CELBAN attempt.

CELBAN fee and reports

The current policy linked from the registration form lists CAD 425 for the complete exam.

Item Current listed amount
Full CELBAN registration CAD 425
Speaking reschedule with more than 5 business days' notice CAD 50
Speaking reschedule with less than 5 business days' notice CAD 100
CBT reschedule within 5 days CAD 150
Additional Official Test Result CAD 35
Speaking or Writing rescore CAD 125 each

The registration form uses PayPal, but a PayPal account is not required. Confirm the current linked policy because older CELBAN PDFs still visible online contain obsolete lower fees.

Registration covers two reports:

  • An Unofficial Score Report emailed to the examinee with scores and performance feedback.
  • An Official Test Result sent electronically to a named regulator or educational organisation.

The portal states that Official Test Results are not sent to examinees. It also says NNAS no longer collects language-test scores. Enter the receiving regulator's current details instead of automatically naming NNAS.

Regulator score benchmarks

The current registration form uses this benchmark shape:

CELBAN component Benchmark
Speaking 8
Listening 9
Reading 8
Writing 7

The College of Nurses of Ontario publishes the same four scores and accepts virtual or administration-site CELBAN results no more than two years old at registration.

BCCNM also publishes Speaking 8, Listening 9, Reading 8 and Writing 7 for applicants using CELBAN evidence. Provincial assessment routes can differ, and the regulator can change its policy.

The Canada province nursing-English guide explains why the province decides acceptance. The Canadian nurse test comparison compares CELBAN with other recognised routes.

For more detail on the oral component, read the existing CELBAN Speaking test guide and English speaking practice for nurses.

Technology, identity and timing

The virtual Speaking interview and remote CBT require separate delivery systems and confirmations.

The official portal requires:

  • A laptop or desktop, not a smartphone or tablet.
  • A personal email address.
  • Identity documents matching the registration name.
  • The published remote-test technology and room requirements.
  • Prompt accommodation documentation when required.

CELBAN Speaking candidates must join at the scheduled appointment time. CBT candidates follow the Prometric arrival or online check-in instructions in their confirmation.

The CELBAN registration page does not publish one fixed result-release date next to each Speaking appointment. Do not promise a score date by adding an unofficial number of days. Plan the nursing application with a buffer and ask CELBAN if a hard regulator deadline is close.

The English certificate expiry comparison explains why result issuance and regulator acceptance windows need separate confirmation.

How to book the two CELBAN parts

Use this sequence:

  1. Confirm that the provincial regulator accepts CELBAN for the applicant's route.
  2. Read the current technology, ID and policy pages.
  3. Choose the candidate's country and timezone.
  4. Select October, November or December 2026.
  5. Select a Speaking date and converted local time.
  6. Choose the result-report recipient.
  7. Pay CAD 425 through the official form.
  8. Watch for the eligibility email within three business days.
  9. Schedule the CBT through Prometric within 14 days of Speaking.
  10. Save both confirmations in the calendar.

The questions before booking an English test help verify the receiver first. The NCNZ English requirements for nurses and NMC English requirements concern New Zealand and the UK, not Canadian CELBAN acceptance.

For general nursing communication, practise nurse speaking scenarios, doctor-visit scenarios, and job interview role plays. Start free speaking practice with SpeakShark for fluency, not protected CELBAN tasks.

Use the free speaking-level check, practice speaking alone, and best English speaking apps in 2026 for a daily routine. Only official regulator-approved evidence satisfies registration.

How we researched this guide

On August 28, 2026, we opened the official CELBAN registration form through the existing browser profile and inspected its public registration modules. We called the same CELBAN registration services used by the form for available months, dates and times.

The service returned October, November and December 2026, with 10 Speaking dates and 21 appointment records. It did not return September. We reported the source times in Toronto local time and did not invent a closed-month calendar.

We checked the current policy linked directly from the form for CAD 425, the two-part workflow, reports and no-combining rule. CNO and BCCNM supplied current regulator score evidence.

We did not enter personal details, submit a registration, publish hidden candidate data, use SpeakShark customer data or claim the current slots will remain available.

We are a speaking improvement tool. We are not an exam preparation provider, and we are not affiliated with CELBAN, Touchstone Institute, Prometric, Pearson or any exam board. For test format, booking and official practice material, go to the exam body directly. Use SpeakShark to make your spoken English stronger, and use official material to learn the test.

FAQ

What are the remaining CELBAN test dates in Canada in 2026?
The official registration API showed CELBAN Speaking dates on October 6, 17, 23 and 25; November 10, 13, 14 and 21; and December 8 and 11. Those 10 dates contained 21 appointment times in the Toronto-based source schedule. September was not present among the open registration months on August 28.
Are there any CELBAN dates available in September 2026?
No open September month or Speaking date was returned by the official registration service when checked on August 28. The open months were October, November and December 2026. This does not prove CELBAN never ran in September; it means candidates could no longer select a September Speaking appointment through the public registration inventory.
How much does CELBAN cost in Canada in 2026?
The current CELBAN policies and procedures linked from the registration form list CAD 425 for the complete Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing exam. The fee covers registration for the virtual Speaking interview and eligibility to schedule the CBT through Prometric. Confirm the current policy document before paying by PayPal.
How far apart can the CELBAN Speaking and CBT appointments be?
The CELBAN Centre requires the Speaking interview and computer-based Listening, Reading and Writing test to be completed within 14 days of each other. The CBT may occur before or after Speaking. If the two parts fall outside that window, CELBAN says it will not validate or issue an Official Test Result.
What CELBAN scores do Canadian nursing regulators require?
The registration form and current CNO and BCCNM guidance use Speaking 8, Listening 9, Reading 8 and Writing 7. Provincial processes can change and may consider other evidence. Send results to the regulator or organisation named in the application rather than assuming NNAS still collects language-test scores.
Can I combine CELBAN scores from two attempts?
No. The current CELBAN policy says partial tests are not offered and scores cannot be combined across separate attempts. Speaking and the CBT must both be completed for one attempt within the 14-day window. Candidates should therefore plan the two appointments together rather than trying to preserve previously passing components.
