OPIc Test Dates in South Korea: September 2026

South Korea lists OPIc on 27 September 2026 dates, with 25 bookable on August 28. Check missing dates, deadlines, results, fee and retakes.

South Korea's official annual calendar lists 27 distinct OPIc test dates in September 2026: September 1 through 23, then September 27 through 30. The only dates without a listing are September 24, 25 and 26.

The live booking page is narrower. When audited on August 28, it showed 25 September dates: September 1 through 19, September 21 through 23, and September 27 through 29. September 20 and 30 are in the annual calendar but their registration windows had not opened yet.

September 2026 OPIc date inventory

The annual calendar contains 28 rows for September but only 27 distinct test dates. September 6 appears twice with the same registration window and different result dates.

September period Distinct test dates listed Dates not listed
September 1 to 7 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 None
September 8 to 14 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 None
September 15 to 21 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 None
September 22 to 28 22, 23, 27, 28 24, 25, 26
September 29 to 30 29, 30 None

This is not one national sitting. OPIc runs through selected regions, centres and appointment times. A date in the annual calendar does not guarantee a place at every centre.

The date density is much higher than the South Korea September TOEIC schedule, which has two L&R dates. It is also different from South Korea's G-TELP September calendar, which has two Level 2 dates at 15:00.

Those three pages own separate intent. TOEIC L&R measures listening and reading, G-TELP Level 2 measures grammar, listening, reading and vocabulary, and OPIc measures spoken proficiency.

Twenty-five dates were bookable on August 28

The official live booking table showed these September dates on August 28:

  • September 1 through 19.
  • September 21 through 23.
  • September 27 through 29.

That produces 25 distinct bookable dates. The live table did not show September 20 or 30 yet.

The annual calendar explains why:

Annual date Registration opens Registration closes Why absent on August 28
September 20 September 7 September 18 Window had not opened
September 30 August 29 September 28 Window opened the next day

September 24 through 26 are different. They are absent from the annual September calendar, so there was no scheduled row waiting to open.

The live page also warns that a centre can change a date when enrolment is too low or local circumstances require it. The booking popup is authoritative for the selected region, centre and time.

No remaining-seat counts are reproduced here. Capacity changes too quickly to be useful as durable content.

Registration deadlines by date group

Most September entries close two calendar days before the test. There is no separate late-registration period.

Test dates Registration deadlines
September 1 to 5 August 30, August 31, September 1, 2 and 3 respectively
September 6 to 10 September 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 respectively
September 11 to 15 September 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 respectively
September 16 to 20 September 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 respectively
September 21 to 23 September 19, 20 and 21 respectively
September 27 to 30 September 25, 26, 27 and 28 respectively

The September 6 duplicate uses one registration window, August 5 through September 4. It should not be counted as two independent calendar days.

The OPIc application page states that regular registration is online only and does not offer additional registration after the published deadline. Complete payment and keep the confirmation.

Before choosing a date, use the questions to ask before booking an English test. An employer may require an OPIc grade by its application deadline, which is different from merely taking the test by that date.

Result release dates

Korean OPIc results normally appear at 13:00 five days after the test. The annual schedule publishes exact dates rather than requiring candidates to calculate them.

Test period Standard result pattern
September 2 to 5 September 7 to 10, five days later
September 7 to 23 Five days after each test
September 27 to 30 October 2 to 5, five days later

There are two details worth checking separately:

  1. September 1 is marked for an early result on September 4 at 13:00, three days after testing.
  2. The annual page contains two September 6 rows, one releasing September 11 and one releasing September 13.

The live booking page showed September 6 with a September 11 result when audited. A candidate should use the result date attached to the selected live card and confirmation rather than interpreting the duplicate annual row alone.

The official result guide says early-release dates can be added or changed without advance notice. It also says the planned time can be delayed by the rating organisation.

Results are valid for two years from the test date. The online certificate becomes available after score release; the site does not send certificate scans or fax copies.

Read the English certificate expiry comparison before assuming every employer uses the full two-year period.

OPIc fee in South Korea

The Korean candidate guide lists KRW 84,000 including VAT for an individual OPIc application. This price applies to applications from November 1, 2025 onward.

Product Current listed individual fee
OPIc KRW 84,000
WPT writing test KRW 78,100
L&Rcat listening and reading KRW 39,600
Live OPI KRW 231,000

These products are not interchangeable. The low price of L&Rcat does not help if an employer asks for OPIc speaking.

Corporate and institutional group tests can have separate prices. A university coupon or employer route can also have eligibility conditions. Confirm the checkout for the selected application.

The standard registration page states that there is no late-registration phase. Missing the deadline means choosing another date rather than paying a published late surcharge.

The 25-day retake rule

OPIc cannot normally be taken again immediately. The Korean booking page says a candidate may retest only after 25 days have elapsed since the most recent test.

For example, a person testing on September 1 would normally wait until after that restriction period before another same-language OPIc. The official calculator should determine the exact next eligible date.

The current waiver rules add one exception:

  • Each test and language has one opportunity to waive the 25-day restriction.
  • An available waiver is applied automatically during registration.
  • The waiver becomes available again 150 days after use.
  • If the waived booking is missed, the site says the waiver can be reused.

Do not build a deadline plan around an assumed waiver. Check the account and calculator first.

The frequent September calendar can create a false impression that any candidate can book multiple dates in the same month. Calendar availability and personal retake eligibility are separate gates.

The OPIc self-assessment guide, OPIc levels and grades, and OPIc IM2 guide can help set a realistic target before using a retake.

What happens during OPIc

Korean OPIc takes about 60 minutes in total: roughly 20 minutes for orientation and 40 minutes for the speaking assessment.

The Korean site describes 12 to 15 prompts depending on the individual form. ACTFL explains the process in four parts:

  1. A background survey about work, school, home, interests and activities.
  2. A speaking self-assessment.
  3. Instructions, warm-up and a sample prompt.
  4. A computer-delivered interview using an avatar and recorded responses.

The background survey affects the topic pool. The self-assessment affects which form is generated. Neither step guarantees exact questions.

Certified raters judge the complete speech sample holistically. ACTFL lists function, accuracy, content and context, and text type as assessment factors. Vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency and pragmatic competence matter through overall comprehensibility rather than as a simple checklist of isolated points.

OPIc is designed for spontaneous, unrehearsed language. The official OPIc demo guide, what to expect in the exam, and OPIc practice-test guide cover the interface without claiming leaked prompts.

Compare OPIc and TOEIC Speaking before choosing based only on date availability.

Test centres, ID and arrival

Candidates choose a region, centre and available time during the live application. The annual date does not specify all three.

The official admission-ticket page recommends carrying the admission ticket and centre map. It instructs candidates to arrive at the testing location at least 10 minutes before the selected start time and warns that lateness can prevent testing.

An accepted ID is mandatory. Some military, university-group or other special routes require additional identity documents stated on their application site. Missing the required ID can invalidate the test.

Use the map from the OPIc account rather than an address found independently on a portal. The official centre pages warn that parking is not provided or supported at some sites.

Booking checklist:

  1. Confirm the employer's accepted product and minimum grade.
  2. Check the 25-day rule and waiver status.
  3. Choose a date whose result arrives before the deadline.
  4. Select the region, centre and appointment time.
  5. Verify the KRW 84,000 checkout or eligible group route.
  6. Save the confirmation and official centre map.
  7. Bring the accepted ID and arrive 10 minutes early.

How we researched this guide

On August 28, 2026, we checked the Korean OPIc annual calendar, live registration table, candidate guide, result guide, test rules and ACTFL's official OPIc description.

We opened the live pages through the existing browser profile and extracted the rendered September rows. The annual page contained 28 rows across 27 distinct dates. The missing dates were September 24, 25 and 26. The live registration page contained 25 September dates on August 28.

We compared the two sources rather than calling all annual dates immediately bookable. September 20 had a future September 7 opening, while September 30 opened on August 29. We also preserved the duplicate September 6 result discrepancy and used the live booking result as the current operational reference.

We did not copy seat counts, protected prompts or SpeakShark customer data. We did not assume one centre offers every annual date.

We are a speaking improvement tool. We are not an exam preparation provider, and we are not affiliated with ACTFL, OPIc, Multicampus, Pearson or any exam board.
