TOEIC Test Dates in South Korea: September 2026

South Korea has two TOEIC Listening and Reading tests in September 2026: Sunday, September 6 and Sunday, September 20. Both official YBM calendar entries show a 09:20 start, with scores released at 12:00 nine days later.

Registration is still possible as of August 28. The September 6 test is in its special additional window until September 3 at 13:00. The September 20 test remains in regular registration until September 7 at 10:00, followed by a special additional window from September 9 through September 17.

September 2026 TOEIC schedule

The Korean TOEIC Committee's official YBM calendar lists two September administrations.

Both score releases are exactly nine calendar days after the test. The published time is noon in South Korea.

This is much faster than Japan's dated digital-certificate calendar. Compare the Japan September TOEIC schedule, where the two September certificates are listed for September 25 and October 15.

France uses a different model again, with many centre sessions rather than two national dates. The France September TOEIC calendar explains that local structure. Candidates should never transfer dates, fees or result timing from one national administrator to another.

Regular versus special additional registration

YBM publishes two registration phases for each test. The regular phase opens earlier and costs less. The special additional phase gives a later route when it is offered.

The first deadline for September 6 has passed. A new candidate must therefore use the more expensive special additional route before September 3, subject to available centres.

For September 20, the regular window is still open on August 28. It ends at 10:00 on September 7. The special additional window does not start until 10:00 on September 9, leaving September 8 outside both published windows.

That one-day gap is easy to miss if someone remembers only the final September 17 cutoff. It is safer to complete regular registration before September 7 instead of relying on the later phase.

The official page warns that schedules can change for organiser reasons. The test centre finder also says centres can change according to school circumstances. Save the final confirmation rather than relying only on a search result.

Use the questions before booking an English test to get the receiver's product and deadline rules in writing first.

TOEIC fees and the cost of registering late

Current 2026 university notices documenting YBM partner discounts publish the underlying public prices:

Special additional registration costs about 9.9% more than regular registration. The late option buys time, not a different score or test format.

YBM's live public page also provides a useful cross-check through package pricing. A regular TOEIC plus TOEIC Speaking package is shown at KRW 136,500 before its package discount, while the equivalent special additional package is KRW 141,700. Subtracting the separately published KRW 84,000 Speaking price leaves KRW 52,500 and KRW 57,700 respectively.

This arithmetic is a verification method, not an invitation to book a package. Buy only the product the receiver requests. An employer asking for TOEIC L&R does not automatically require TOEIC Speaking.

Discount links from a university, local programme or employer can have eligibility and document rules. A general applicant should confirm the normal checkout total instead of assuming access to a student partnership.

The English certificate expiry comparison helps separate test price from score age. Paying the late fee does not extend how long a receiver accepts the result.

Test-day timeline and arrival rule

Both September schedule entries display 09:20. YBM's candidate guide gives the following morning sequence:

YBM states that entry is absolutely closed after 09:50. Arriving at 09:49 is therefore not a sensible travel plan. The 09:20 calendar time should be treated as the arrival deadline.

The two scored sections total 200 multiple-choice questions. Listening contains 100 questions in roughly 45 minutes. Reading contains 100 questions in 75 minutes. ETS describes the contexts as workplace conversations, announcements, emails, reports and schedules.

The score ranges from 10 to 990. It is not a pass or fail result until a receiving organisation applies its own threshold.

What to bring to the test centre

YBM's candidate guide requires:

• An accepted, unexpired ID for the candidate category.
• Pencils because ballpoint pens and marker pens are not allowed for the answer sheet.
• An eraser.
• An analogue wristwatch if the candidate wants a personal timepiece.

Electronic watches are not permitted. YBM also notes that whether a wall clock is available depends on the school used as the centre.

A candidate without an accepted ID cannot take the test. The official guide has separate categories for adults, students, soldiers and other candidates. Read that list directly instead of assuming an employee card or image of an ID will work.

The venue finder is date-sensitive, and schools can change. Check the selected centre after registration and again near test day. The five TOEIC Plaza offices in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejeon and Gwangju are service locations, not a promise that the test itself occurs at those office addresses.

Score release and certificate planning

YBM schedules both September results nine days after testing:

The candidate guide says scores can be checked on the website and mobile services at the announced time. One score report is included according to the issue method chosen during registration.

Online printing is available during the score-validity period. If postal delivery is selected, YBM says delivery takes about seven to ten days. The score-report lookup and reissue period runs to the same date two years after the test.

A September 20 test may therefore produce an online score on September 29, but postal delivery can continue into October. Ask the receiver whether an online printout is accepted and whether direct verification is required.

Work backwards through four dates:

1. The application deadline for the job, university or public examination.
2. The published TOEIC score-release date.
3. Any postal or verification time.
4. A retake date if the required threshold is missed.

The CEFR levels explained for speaking provides general language context, but it cannot replace a receiver's named TOEIC score rule.

Make sure TOEIC L&R is the right product

TOEIC Listening and Reading measures receptive workplace English. It does not score speaking or writing.

South Korea also has separate TOEIC Speaking and Speaking and Writing products. Their dates, fees, scales and registration pages are different. A convenient L&R date cannot satisfy a requirement that explicitly names TOEIC Speaking.

Before paying, ask:

1. Is TOEIC Listening and Reading accepted?
2. What total score is required?
3. Is there a minimum Listening or Reading score?
4. Is TOEIC Speaking also required?
5. How old may the score be?
6. Is online printing accepted?

Use the official YBM process:

1. Confirm the exact TOEIC product and required score.
2. Choose September 6 or September 20.
3. Check whether regular or special additional registration applies.
4. Search the available test centres for that date.
5. Verify the fee and any discount eligibility.
6. Enter the name exactly as required for the accepted ID.
7. Choose the score-report issue method.
8. Save the payment and venue confirmation.

As of August 28, September 20 is the cheaper choice because regular registration remains open. September 6 requires special additional registration.

If both dates are unsuitable, the next official test is October 11 at 09:20. Regular registration closes September 28 at 10:00, special additional registration runs September 30 through October 7, and scores are scheduled for October 20 at 12:00.
