On September 12, the paper session in Paris is already full while a digital session in Epernay remains listed with a September 5 deadline. That means the last published September entry deadline is not late September. It is September 6, twenty days before the final listed exam. Candidates reading after that date need to ask a centre about cancellations or move to an October session.

Cambridge's calendar for individual candidates in France showed this table on August 28, 2026:

The global Cambridge date page lists September 12 as the fixed paper date. The September 26 Reims date exists because digital sessions are centre controlled.

France therefore has two exam dates but three centre entries. A national date is not the same thing as a place: the Paris paper route can be full while a digital centre on the same date still accepts registration.

What full means for the Paris session

The Paris paper listing says Complet, not a future deadline. Candidates should treat it as unavailable unless Kangourou explicitly confirms a cancellation or waiting-list place.

Do not try to register through another site that merely repeats September 12. Cambridge candidates enter through authorised centres, and the centre controls capacity. A global date does not create a seat after the local session fills.

The closest listed alternative on the same date is digital Epernay. That choice changes city and input method, and its own September 5 deadline still applies.

If paper is essential, later French paper dates include November 25 in Strasbourg and Luynes, November 28 in Dijon, and December 5 in Paris and Colmar. Each has a separate centre deadline.

Epernay and Reims registration deadlines

The two open digital routes have unusually early deadlines relative to the later exam:

Reims closes twenty days before its exam. Waiting until mid-September removes the only listed late-month session even though the exam itself is still weeks away.

The deadline gap is a centre fact, not a general Cambridge rule. Compare Germany's C1 Advanced September schedule, where digital deadlines range from five to thirteen days before the exam, and Austria's C1 Advanced schedule, where both Vienna deadlines are ten days before the session.

Contact the centre before paying for travel. Epernay's listed centre is Saint Victor, Sainte Marie, while Reims uses Ecole Internationale Henri Farman.

Paper versus digital options in France

The September list contains one paper entry and two digital entries. Cambridge states that both versions use the same format and lead to the same qualification.

Digital does not mean remote. Cambridge English Qualifications are administered at an authorised centre or agreed venue. The Speaking component is not completed by talking to the computer.

The three French centre listings

The September calendar covers Paris, Epernay and Reims. The public table gives the city, department, version, date, deadline and centre name, but not every operational detail.

Ask each centre for:

1. Current capacity or waiting-list status.
2. Fee and payment deadline.
3. Final venue address.
4. Speaking date and time.
5. Required identity document.
6. Transfer and cancellation terms.

An authorised centre can hold the exam at a venue different from its office. Wait for the Confirmation of Entry before buying non-refundable travel.

France also has other English qualifications. The DCL English state diploma, CLES university certification, and CPF English certification guide cover different systems. A convenient C1 Advanced date does not make it interchangeable with a named French requirement.

Confirm Speaking with the centre

The France table publishes no Speaking date. Cambridge instructs candidates to get the full timetable from the local centre.

C1 Advanced Speaking consists of four parts and is normally taken with another candidate. The centre may place it on the main date or a nearby day.

Cambridge's current candidate information distinguishes the online result from the certificate:

The Statement of Results is official and can be verified through Cambridge's service. Ask the receiving French university or employer whether it can use that result before the certificate arrives.

At C1 Advanced, scores 180 to 199 certify C1, 200 to 210 certify C2, and 160 to 179 certify B2. The Council of Europe CEFR descriptions explain the levels, while the receiver decides its score floor.

Later C1 Advanced dates in France

The France calendar listed these next sessions after September:

• October 3 digital in Paris, deadline September 26.
• October 16 digital in Marseille or Aix-en-Provence, deadline September 28.
• October 17 digital in Lyon and Dijon, deadlines October 8 and 2.
• November 14 digital in Lyon, deadline November 5.
• November 25 paper in Strasbourg and Luynes, deadlines October 9 and 16.
