Banca d'Italia 50 ICT calendar

The April competition notice initially said first tests were expected by July. The June convocation provided exact dates.

Applications closed May 28 at 12:00 Italian time. A person could apply to only one of the three competitions; if multiple applications were submitted, the latest one controlled.

Written prompts were published after administration. Banca d'Italia then used its private results system to communicate written outcomes, oral admission and individual oral appointments.

There is no valid single oral date to add to the public table. It depends on the candidate's profile, written result and personal notification.

Three profiles share one English structure

The recruitment includes:

The selected employees are intended mainly for central-administration offices at the Donato Menichella Centre in Frascati, Rome.

Each profile has different academic or experience requirements and a different technical programme. All three use the same high-level assessment architecture:

1. Possible preselection if applications exceed the threshold.
2. Written test with two technical questions and English composition.
3. Oral technical interview plus English conversation.

This is one named Banca d'Italia recruitment, not a general rule for every central-bank competition.

Short written English composition

The written test required:

1. Two technical answers from the profile programme.
2. A short English composition on current affairs.

The commission could set the total duration up to five hours. It did not publish a separate timer for the English component.

The English paper was designed to verify knowledge of English for use as a working language. It was not a technical translation test and did not ask for an IELTS or Cambridge certificate.

Banca d'Italia prohibited:

The two technical questions own the initial progression decision.

Normal passing requires at least 18 of 30 in each technical answer. The notice also allows progression with 15 in one question when the two-question total is at least 36.

The English composition is corrected only after the candidate reaches that technical combined minimum.

Examples:

The English maximum is 2 of the 62 available written points, about 3.2%. Its low numeric weight does not make it optional, because it forms part of the required written test and final written score.

The prompt is not corrected for someone who fails the technical gate. A good English response therefore cannot rescue a technically ineligible written paper.

English conversation in the oral examination

The oral has two integrated parts:

1. Technical discussion based on the profile programme, potentially including practical cases.
2. Conversation in English.

The English conversation checks use of English as a working language. The notice does not publish a separate question count, duration or English subscore.

Because the score is combined, candidates should not invent an English pass mark such as B2, 18/30 or 10/20. The competition notice states only the overall 36/60 oral requirement.

The technical interview evaluates knowledge, exposition, connections between topics, applied reasoning and critical judgement. English sits inside that professional assessment rather than as a standalone language certificate.

Why oral dates are candidate-specific

The written result communication includes:

• Whether the candidate is admitted to oral examination.
• The oral convocation date.
• Access through the private results system.

This communication has legal notification value. The public recruitment page hosts the notice, written prompts and commission documents, while private results preserve candidate confidentiality.

The safe checking route is:

1. Open the 50 ICT recruitment page.
2. Use the official results link.
3. Authenticate with the candidate information required by the system.
4. Read the written score and admission status.
5. Record the assigned oral date and instructions.
6. Monitor the page for later final rankings.

An oral date shared by another candidate does not establish the reader's date.

Why no profile used the preselection test

The bank reserved the right to run preselection when applications exceeded 2,500 for a profile. None did.

All applicants moved directly to their profile's written test, subject to admission reservations and eligibility checks.

If used, preselection would have contained 60 logical-mathematical, deductive and text-comprehension questions, up to 75 minutes. Its score would not have entered final merit.

The unused preselection should not be described as a completed English test. Text comprehension is not the same as the separate English current-affairs composition.

How written and oral scores combine

Final merit uses:

Eligible candidates are ranked by descending total of written and oral scores.

In a tie, the notice gives preference first to the less represented gender for the searched profiles, then to the younger candidate.

Final rankings can remain available for use for up to three years. Banca d'Italia may move down the ranking after renunciation or failure to take service.

Names are replaced with application codes in public final rankings for privacy.
