Speak more than you study. Reading about English produces recognition. Speaking produces production, and production is what people hear.

Make it daily and short. Fifteen to twenty minutes every day beats two hours on Sunday, because the gains come from frequency rather than from duration.

Get corrected on specifics. General encouragement does not change pronunciation. What changes it is being told which sound, in which position, you are consistently producing differently, and then repeating it.

Vary the topics deliberately. Fluency is topic dependent. Somebody comfortable discussing their job can be lost describing a place, and exams and interviews both wander.

Record yourself weekly. The gap between how you think you sound and how you sound is the single most useful thing to close, and it can only be closed by listening.

Do not chase a certificate you do not need. If no employer or authority is asking for a test result, a test result buys you nothing. If one is, find out its per skill minimums first.

None of this depends on being in Germany, in an English speaking country, or anywhere in particular. It depends on doing it most days, which is the part nobody wants to hear and the only part that works.
